Nos últimos tempos planear tem sido um desafio para nós, pandemia, incêndios, eleições, autorizações, são fatores que nos obrigam a ter sempre um plano aberto e alternativas, felizmente a qualidade da Serra D’Arga e zona envolvente permite-nos ter imensas alternativas de enorme qualidade. Esperamos que este seja o plano definitivo.
O Vertical mantém a data de 19 Setembro e abre assim 15 dias antes das provas principais, a 10ª edição do GTSA, com início em Estorãos (Ponte de Lima) e término na mítica Srª do Minho. É já um clássico esta prova, com a novidade de este ano atribuir pontos extra para o Circuito Best Trail Series.
Na sexta-feira dia 1 de outubro o centro de Caminha será a base logística e de partida para várias novidades.
Às 17:30h arranca o Prólogo, mais uma prova nova que dá pontos extra para o Circuito Best Trail Series e permeia os atletas mais rápidos. Serão entregues 700€ aos 3 primeiros classificados masculinos e femininos.
Às 19h teremos as partidas do Sunset 15kms e o Ultra Endurance 110kms.
Por questões logísticas decidimos anular a travessia do Rio Minho e os Kayaks, fazendo todo o percurso em território Nacional e envolvendo pela primeira vez Vila Nova de Cerveira no projeto GTSA, município que detém uma área considerável da Serra D’Arga, nomeadamente na freguesia de Covas.
O percurso do Sunset é linear e coincidente com o Ultra Endurance até Vila Praia de Âncora, passando por Santo Antão onde encontraremos o primeiro abastecimento e uma das melhores vistas Sunset de toda esta Costa Verde Atlântica. Os atletas do Sunset que não tenham familiares ou acompanhantes, terão à disposição autocarro e carrinhas para os levar novamente a Caminha, são cerca de 10min de viagem.
Os atletas da Ultra 110k chegados a Âncora, terão mais uns quilómetros junto ao mar com vistas lindíssimas e entram em Afife, no concelho de Viana do Castelo, onde teremos o segundo abastecimento. Seguir-se-á mais uma subida forte, por um Single track espetacular, junto às linhas de água até ao alto de Outeiro, onde haverá mais um abastecimento sobretudo de líquidos tal como o primeiro em Santo Antão.
A descida será feita sempre em single track e levar-nos-á ao santuário da Senhora da Cabeça. Nova subida e lá chegaremos à capela da Senhora das Neves, já na freguesia de Dem. Mais um par de quilómetros e teremos a primeira base de apoio, no centro cultural de Dem, ao km 43. Estará feita a primeira parte deste grande desafio, faltando agora o tradicional percurso dos 55kms nos últimos anos do GTSA, que dão a volta completa à Serra. Com o acréscimo depois de chegados ao abastecimento da Arte na Leira, terem a descida e respetiva subida a Covas, voltando a usar o mesmo abastecimento pela segunda vez.
Tudo somado dá um total de 110kms, com 5.530m de desnível positivo e 5 pontos ITRA, para se fazer em 25 horas de tempo limite, acreditamos que será uma prova para ficar durante muitos anos na programação do GTSA, e com percursos e partidas sempre diferentes.
Os atletas que não tenham familiares ou acompanhantes, terão à disposição na meta em Dem, carrinhas para os levar novamente a Caminha, são cerca de 10min de viagem.
Neste momento (dia 22 julho) encontram-se inscritos 90 atletas para a Ultra Endurance 110k.
A Ultra 45km faz o percurso original da anterior Ultra 55k, com exceção da descida a Arga S. João, descendo diretamente da Pedra Alçada ao Mosteiro S. João D’Arga.
Encurtamos 10kms e mantemos o tempo limite de 12 horas, queremos que praticamente todos os participantes da 1º Edição, hoje com mais 11 anos, estejam presentes e sejam Finishers.
Neste momento (dia 22 julho) encontram-se 531 inscritos para a Ultra 45k, onde prevemos uma grande prova, não só em número, mas também em qualidade de atletas, uma vez que estarão em disputa só nesta prova 3.800€, de um total de 6.900€.
Os 27kms terão como novidade a inclusão da descida ao Cerquido e subida à Sra do Minho, já os 17kms mantêm o mesmo percurso dos anos anteriores.

At 7pm we will have the Sunset 15kms and Ultra Endurance 110kms starts.
For logistical reasons, we decided to cancel the crossing of the River Minho and the Kayaks, making the entire route in national territory and involving for the first time Vila Nova de Cerveira in the GTSA project, a municipality that holds a considerable area of Serra D'Arga, namely the village of Covas.
The Sunset route is linear and coincides with the Ultra Endurance to Vila Praia de Âncora, passing through Santo Antão where we will find the first supply and one of the best sunset views in the whole of this Costa Verde Atlantica. Sunset athletes who do not have family members or companions will have a bus and vans available to take them to Caminha again, which takes about 10 minutes to travel.
The Ultra 110k athletes arriving at Âncora will have a few more kilometers by the sea with beautiful views and enter Afife, in the municipality of Viana do Castelo, where we will have the second supply. This will be followed by another strong climb, along a spectacular Single track, along the water lines up to the top of Outeiro, where there will be another supply, mainly of liquids, like the first one in Santo Antão.
The downhill will always be done on a single track and will take us to the sanctuary of Senhora da Cabeça. Another climb and there we will reach the chapel of Senhora das Neves, in the village of Dem. Another couple of kilometers and we will have the first support base, in the cultural center of Dem, at km 43. The first part of this great challenge will be done, now missing the traditional 55kms route in the last years of the GTSA, which go around the Serra. With the addition, after arriving at the Arte na Leira supply, they have the descent and respective climb to Covas, returning to use the same supply for the second time.
All in all, it gives a total of 110kms, with 5,530m of positive slope and 5 ITRA points, to be done in 25 hours of time limit, we believe it will be a test to stay for many years in the GTSA schedule, and with courses and departures always many different.
Athletes who do not have family members or companions will have vans available at the finish in Dem to take them back to Caminha, which takes about 10 minutes to travel.
At this moment (July 22) 90 athletes are registered for the Ultra Endurance 110k.
The Ultra 45km is the original route of the previous Ultra 55k, with the exception of the descent to Arga S. João, downhill directly from Pedra Alçada to S. João D’Arga Monastery.
We shortened 10kms and kept the time limit of 12 hours, we want practically all the participants of the 1st Edition, now over 11 years old, to be present and to be Finishers.
